The displays

Three screen sizes,
one clear picture

Each display is a small, low-power device that connects to your Wi-Fi and pulls live data straight from the cloud. Choose the size that suits your space.

🖥

Home Dashboard Display

A full-colour 3.2″ touchscreen designed to sit on your kitchen counter or stick to the wall. At a glance you can see everything happening with your home's energy.

  • Current home electricity consumption in watts
  • Solar panel output
  • Battery charge level and whether it's charging or discharging
  • How much you're sending to or drawing from the grid
  • Current electricity price — colour-coded from deep green to red
  • What the price will be in the next half hour
  • Live clock
💡

LED Matrix Panel

A bright 64×64 RGB LED matrix that's readable from across the room. Perfect for mounting on a wall or shelf — you can see your energy status without walking over to it.

  • Four-quadrant layout: Solar, House load, Battery, Grid
  • Colour-coded electricity rate strip along the bottom
  • Battery icon that tracks your charge level visually
  • Grid icon changes to show importing vs. exporting
  • Visible in a lit room from several metres away
☀️

Solar Monitor

Think of this like an Octopus Mini, but for your solar inverter. It sits on your home network, reads data directly from your inverter, and feeds it into HAAaS in real time — so every display in your home can show live solar, battery, and grid figures without any manual input.

  • Plugs into your home network and talks to your inverter automatically
  • Pushes solar output, battery charge, grid flow, and house consumption into HAAaS
  • Powers all your other displays with live inverter data
  • Also shows the data itself — solar, battery %, grid, and load on three clear rows
  • Has its own screen so you can glance at it to confirm data is flowing — but it's a status check, not something you need to watch

Know the price before you press start

If you're on a variable-rate tariff like Octopus Agile, the price you pay for electricity changes every half hour — sometimes going negative, meaning you get paid to use power.

HAAaS pulls the latest rates automatically and displays them on your screen in real time, colour-coded so it's obvious at a glance whether right now is cheap, expensive, or free.

  • Current rate shown in large, easy-to-read numbers
  • Next half-hour rate so you can plan ahead
  • Deep green when it's cheap, amber when it's average, red when it's expensive
  • Blue when prices go negative — you're earning money
What you'll need from Octopus

To connect your account we need two things — both take about 30 seconds to find. Your API key is read-only, so it can fetch data but cannot change your account, tariff, or direct debit. We walk you through exactly where to find each one when you set up.

Features

Almost everything taken care of —
minimal setup, maximum insight

HAAaS handles all the complexity behind the scenes. You get the displays; we handle everything that makes them work.

☁️

Managed from the cloud

All energy data is fetched and processed in our cloud. Your displays connect to the internet and get everything they need — no local server, no Raspberry Pi, no storage box running in your cupboard.

🔄

Always up to date

Displays update their own software automatically. When we release improvements or add new features, your screen updates itself overnight — no action needed from you, ever.

📡

Live data, second by second

Energy readings flow in continuously. The numbers you see on screen reflect what your home is doing right now, not a figure from five minutes ago.

Octopus Energy built in

Enter your Octopus account number and API key once — both found in your online account in about a minute — and we handle everything else. Tariff detection, live half-hourly rates, and upcoming pricing are all pulled automatically, forever.

🔋

Solar & battery aware

Whether you have solar panels, a home battery, or both, the displays understand the full picture — generation, storage, consumption, and grid interaction all shown together.

🛡

Your own private account

Each household gets its own isolated account. Your energy data stays yours and is never shared. Devices are securely registered to your account and can only be claimed by you.

No technical barrier

You don't need Home Assistant.
We run it for you.

Home Assistant is powerful software, but running it reliably takes time, hardware, and technical know-how that most people simply don't want to deal with. HAAaS gives you all the benefits without any of that.

With HAAaS

Plug in your display, connect it to Wi-Fi using your phone, enter a 4-digit code on the website, and you're done. Everything else is handled automatically. Your screen is showing live data within minutes.

Without HAAaS

Buy a Raspberry Pi. Install Home Assistant OS. Configure networking. Install add-ons. Set up MQTT. Find and install the Octopus Energy integration. Learn YAML. Set up ESPHome. Compile firmware. Keep everything patched and running. Repeat whenever something breaks.

How it works

Up and running in minutes

From unboxing to live data on screen, the whole process takes about five minutes.

1

Plug it in

Connect your display to power. It will broadcast a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot called "HAAaS Setup."

2

Connect it to your Wi-Fi

Join the hotspot on your phone and enter your home Wi-Fi details. The display connects to your network automatically.

3

Claim it on the website

Your display will show a short 4-character code. Log in to HAAaS, enter the code, and the display is registered to your account.

4

Add your Octopus details

Enter your Octopus account number and API key — both found in your Octopus online account in under a minute. We'll detect your tariff automatically and take care of everything from there.

5

Watch the data flow

Your display receives its custom firmware, connects to the cloud, and starts showing live energy data. That's it. Nothing more to do.
